2012 Kentucky public land

Post by JMax510 on Sat Sep 22, 2012 10:53 am

Hi everyone,
I just found this site today while google searching Missouri public land. Its my new favorite. Here is a buck I shot in Kentucky 9/8/12. It was an awesome hunt. I kayaked across a lake with my bow and stand strapped to kayak. I had planned to setup in a spot but when I got there someone else was already there so I went to an area I had previously scouted but didn't hunt yet. I was only in stand about an hour when this guy came by. He dropped made it 40 yards after the shot. Paddling back across the lake was hardest thing ever while towing my deer with my life preserver around his neck.

I did try to get a pic once I got back to boat launch. It's hard to see because my cell phone doesnt take night pics very good but you can see the deer and my kayak with treestand and climbing sticks strapped to it.

Great improv. I was wondering how u could with a kayak. So basically he was in the water on tow right? Dressed or non dressed?

I was thinking of a little row boat someday. Public land where i am
Has water access at the very end. Right now i just hike in. Would be alot simpler to drag to water and get out that way.

Nice deer & great story. I'll be taking my kayak to some MO public land this Nov. I have a similar plan to cross a lake & access some spots. I'm hoping for the same outcome as you.
