I know we have A LOT of hardcore, public land bowhunters on OUR forum. The video below, in my opinion, is an EXCELLENT example of a public land bowhunter, with a great attitude, and fierce determination!

I saw this video this morning, and the word that resounded in my head was "Impressive". I know that we ALL sacrifice, suffer, endure, and persevere in our public land quests. Posted (as I like to call him) filmed his experience and it's a damn good video!!! Yall join me in givin our fellow public land bowhuntin brotha some much deserved props! Your kill IS comin Posted, and it will be truly earned & very well deserved!

=================================================
Q- What state do you live in?

A- Queens, New York. Less and less hunters coming out the cities these days. I'm from a very ethnic neighborhood where European immigrants came with a hunting background and kept the tradition.

Q- How many years have you been bowhunting?
This is my 5th year bowhunting. Since I started, I've been fortunate enough to take a deer every season. We'll see about this season...

Q- What is your favorite animal to bowhunt & why?

A- The Whitetail but mostly because its the only feasible big game animal to hunt in New York. Nothing like having your heart start pumping once one is in sight. Their senses are something I truly respect. The slightest movement or noise, or as I learned, scent stream and they are on edge or gone. Doesn't matter whether its a doe, button buck or mature deer, they all make me nervous when bowhunting especially. The only other big game animal we have is Bear, which is the hardest to hunt especially with the bow. However I have learned how to scout for their habitats and are on them now!

Q- What is your favorite wildlife management area to hunt & why?

A- Any public land in the Catskills or Adirondacks, which are the two most remote big woods areas of New York. Big woods just appeals to me more than any other. You can imagine, living and working in NYC, I want to be somewhere real far and away from noise when I hunt. I've hunted public land closer to the city and the traffic noise just doesn't suit me while in the woods. I would lean mostly to the Catskills because of memories of my Father going out and bringing home deer on his own there.

Q- If you could go on any D.I.Y./PUBLIC LAND bow hunt, what would it be & why?

A- I must be from a different time or place but I used to think that all hunting was D.I.Y. Then I learned about guides and ranches through the TV shows. If I could really do any, without having to worry about cost of gas and out of state tags, I would go to Colorado public land and hunt the majestic Elk.

Q- What is the most useful bowhunting tip you can think of, to share with a new bowhunter?

A- Patience, patience and some more patience. Without it, you are bound to let yourself down mentally and give up. I have a friend that is learning patience now but used to think you could just walk in one morning and take a deer and season is over. Sure, that could always happen, but when luck runs out, you need to be prepared mentally to be in for the long haul.

Thanks again Dave. It was a nice surprise this morning and gives me that extra motivation to get out there tomorrow through Sunday to make something happen. Glad I am here where you All know the trials we go through not just as bowhunters, but on Public Land.
