I have those same maps for my Garmin 60 CSx. It has that info on them, the areas and boundaries are highlighted in green. It may not locate the area by name though. Try zooming out, and moving the cursor on your unit over the area you want to find and then zooming in on it. WMA's, parks, and other public lands are usually highlighted or green in color. I have found them to be very accurate as far as borders go.

Thanks, Slowbow you are right ...I was looking with the base map. now I have the 24k maps on ,I am liking this thing as you can see the terrain ahead of you as your walking ..which is pretty cool..

Was the 24K maps free or did you purchase it from somewhere?

No had to buy the 24k garmin maps ,,But, There is some pretty good ones here and a few other places on the web..My wife got me a GPS for my Birthday and I got the maps . Too us it was a lot money .But, I think I will get a lot of use out of it ..I know some guys just use their phones with maps etc...However,I am still learning about all this stuff .So, not sure how it all works...

That's a real bummer.

So if you go to a different state and want to hunt a particular area, you would have to buy that set of topo's from garmin(?) 1:24(?)

Thank goodness my magellan isn't like that.....one map system that zooms past 24k, and the software was free download. I can create an area and load that specific, or delete it from the memory and load another or have both.....or just use the base map.....

Most of the 24k topo maps are available for free on the internet for garmin gps users, but of course Garmin doesn't advertise that...go figure!
