Getting Sloppy

Post by SlowBow on Mon Sep 14, 2015 9:57 pm

Hit one of my old public spots for my first hunt this morning. Bout a quarter after 8 I see a doe slip out of the underbrush and into my opening at about 25 yards. All I did was move my hand about 6 inches to flip the camera on, and that doe hit the brakes, jumped backwards and I didn't see her no mo.

Hunting that private land last year has made me a little less cautious than I need to be out there on the public areas.

Those public land deer are a different breed. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

At least you saw a deer. The challenge is what keeps us coming back. If it were easy everyone would be doing it! Like I say, "The harder the hunt, the better the meat tastes!"  Wink

I can relate. My first two hunts I got spotted and one of them I barely moved my arm at 60 yards.
